Microsoft Office 2010 is quite similar to Office 2007 in first look but there are many advanced features and changes which we'll discuss in this topic.

System Requirements:

CPU: 500 MHz processor or higher

RAM: 256 MB or higher

Microsoft Office 2010 Technical Preview Setup:

First we'll talk about the Setup. Its almost same as Office 2007 setup. Once you run the setup, it asks for the Product key:

After that you need to accept the EULA:

Then it asks whether you want to upgrade existing Office version or want to customize the installation option:

We selected "Customize" option and it showed following options to choose from:

Microsoft Office 2010 Technical Preview Screenshots:

Once you launch any Office 2010 application, it shows an awesome animated splash screen containing minimize and close buttons at top along with Cancel button at bottom:

All Office applications now contain more glass in the header. So if you have Aero enabled in Windows Vista or 7, you can enjoy the extended glass in the ribbon interface.

Also the toolbar buttons no longer contain any border which makes the interface more simple and clean.

You can also send your current Desktop screenshot along with your E-mail ID while submitting the feedback.

After using it for a few minutes, we didn't find any issue. The performance is quite impressive. No doubt, Microsoft is working very hard to make its products perfect as we have seen in case of Windows 7 and now its turn of Office 2010. Good going MS...

  • I got the invitation! :) but looks like MS have finished it distributing coz when i clicked on the link

  • VG

^^ The link should contain Invitation code at last in its URL. Use that code directly in the Invitation box at Connect homepage.

  • Minimum system requirement : WRONG?

    i installed Office 2010,
my system is 512MB RAM, 2 GHz AMD CPU, and 10 GB Free Disk (after installation)
YET everytime i try to run Word 2010 - it keeps telling me "There is not enough memory or disk space to run Word"

I tried all those things- like removing the normal.dot , disk cleanup , repair office setup etc.
    nothing working.

    please help, give solution
    thanks.

  • @ Vishal
in addition to above messege of mine-
the Microsoft outlook 2010 & Publisher 2010 is working nice and smooth on my system.
but its only giving that memory error for Word 2010 & powerpoint and excel.

    please please help.
(I'm frustrated because this stupid thing also uninstalled my Office 2007 and i don't have its setup Disk at the moment.)

  • VG

^^ Sorry mate but I have no idea about it. As its under testing, it might be a bug.

  • I fixed my problem (of Word2010 giving error that i've not sufficient memory to run it)

but i had to format and uninstall entire XP for it.

the min system requirements are right - 256MB RAM only
currently its working nice and smooth infact office 2010 is quite lighters and speedier than the Office 2007, I recommend it to everyone

    have a great weekend.

  • it never expires, and it doesn't even ask for serial key.
