Though there are quite a few Twitter clients for Windows, my list of usable twitter clients includes:

• Twitter Accelerator for IE 8
• Chirpr
• Blu
• Twhirl
• TweetDeck

1. Twitter Accelerator for IE 8

For those who use IE 8 & the web interface, this add-on helps in tweeting text from web pages a matter of few clicks, without you having to copy-pasting or opening twitter.com. To use:

• Select the text you want to tweet
• The Accelerator short-cut should appear, choose "Send to Twitter"

2. Chirpr

Chirpr is a Sidebar Gadget, very tiny, might be difficult to adjust to, but certainly not bad:

The "what are you doing" window opens when you click on "new chirp".

3. Blu

Initially named *Chirp, then renamed to Blu, this is probably the most beautiful twitter client on any platform. It complements the beauty with usable features making it a pretty good desktop client for users.

Built on WPF, the same engine on which the now-discontinued Yahoo! messenger for Vista was made. Transparencies & subtle animations make it truly a good app to have on the desktop.

4. Twhirl

Advantages:

• Access multiple Twitter accounts
• Access aconi.ca, Friendfeed and Seesmic accounts
• Post tweets to Ping.FM

Disadvantages:

• Adobe Air app
• Horrible interface
• Single search query

5. TweetDeck

Advantages:

• Multi-column interface
• Groups
• Big interface
• Hash-tag support

Disadvantages:

• Adobe Air based app
• Heavy on resources
• No multi-account support
