5 Test Updates Coming for Windows 7 Beta (Build 7000) on 24 February 2009

Here is some important information for Windows 7 users. Microsoft is going to release 5 test updates for Windows 7 Beta (Build 7000) on Tuesday, February 24, 2009.

Remember that all these updates will not install automatically. They will be clearly described as test updates in Windows Update.

How to Install the Updates:

To install these updates, you'll need to go to Control Panel -> Windows Update and then select the updates and install them.

What will these Updates Do:

These updates will not deliver any new feature or fix. They will simply replace some system files with new ones to help Microsoft in verifying its ability to deliver and manage the updating of Windows 7 in certain scenarios in the future.

If you don't want to install them, you can simply hide them by right-click on the update and select "Hide update" option.

These updates are only available for Windows 7 Beta Build 7000 and you'll be able to install them even if your Windows 7 copy is not activated.
