In the old longhorn 4xxx days, the startmenu user picture was more animated as it was today. Today, we get a cheap alpha-fading effect when you hover over an item: the user picture simply blends with the icon for a while.
Back in the days, the user picture was actually rotating when you had the start menu opened. Andreas Verhoeven's "3D User Picture" tries to achieve that effect.

'bout this 3D user pic, it's not working on my windows 7... the explorer stops working. i have win 7 ultimate build 6956. help is much appreciated. thanks
VG
^^ 3D userpic also didnt work for many Vista users. Most of them faced the same Explorer crash problem and there is no solution for it. It might be machine dependent.

When I launched it, it does get bigger and it does look kind of 3D, but it doesn''t rotate completely around. It just kind of rocks back and forth like it wants to go around. Is that what it means by rotating? Also when I mouse over some of the othe Start Menu things such as Documents, Pictures, Music, Recent Items, the rotating pic,(mine being the Chess Piece) the icon or pic changes to whatever I moused over. Is that what's supposed to happen?
VG
^^ Yes. Both things are working in the manner they supposed to do. :)

Thanx for that prompt answer. I did the tweak for the taskbar icons. Vista to 7. Anyway, I like it with just the icons, but I was wondering if there's a way to make just the icons bigger. I used the tweaker for making the taskbar bigger with the slider, but the icons stay the same size. Is there a way to make just the icons bigger? By the way, thanx for all the hard work you're doing. My laptop looks and works so nice.
